This work is part of a series exploring the ancestral lands of the date palm in the fertile crescent —present day Iraq. Motifs of rivers and date palms repeat to examine a land in an unrealistic state, unearthing the potentials of imagination—a river system that extends indefinitely, bringing fertile soil, nutrients, food, and fresh water wherever it flows, reviving dry lands and sprouting extinct varieties of dates.
